Unprecedented New Charges In The Supply Chain

This year, 2021, is characterized by raw material shortages and supply chain disruptions.  Customers and suppliers in the chemical industry have made significant changes in their supply chains to accommodate these new challenges.  Teckrez is re-posting here an announcement from Hapag-Lloyd about unprecedented new charges being implemented by shipping companies on goods coming into the United States from Asia (particularly from China).  These are being described as “port congestion” charges and, if implemented will add more significant cost to the reliable delivery of chemical products in the USA.
