Teckrez, a company specializing in tackifiers, announced a new range of hydrogenated hydrocarbon (HC Series) resins, including fully hydrogenated (HF Series) and aromatically-modified hydrogenated (HM Series). These are hydrogenated C9 resins that provide superior stability and performance compared to currently available hydrogenated hydrocarbon (DCPD and C5-based) resins.
The Teckrez HF and HM Series hydrogenated C9 resins are produced by Henghe Materials and Science and marketed by Teckrez in North America to producers of adhesives, sealants, and coatings. “We are pleased Henghe Materials chose Teckrez as their exclusive distribution partner for these products in the United States,” says Marc Jackson, president of Teckrez. “Henghe made a significant investment, resulting in more than 50 thousand tons of new capacity for hydrogenated C9 resins. Until now, this type of resin has had limited availability in North America.” These resins enable customers to differentiate packaging and converting adhesives, pressure-sensitive tape and label products, and sealants by improved adhesion, lower odor, lighter color, and better thermal-oxidative stability. “Teckrez looks forward to helping our customers create value with these resins in applications that include adhesives, sealants, coatings, and plastic films,” continues Jackson. “Hydrogenated C9 resins offer many benefits, including light color, low odor, high adhesion and excellent thermal stability.” ![]() Leading Tackifier Specialist Expands North American Office Teckrez announced today that Marc Jackson has joined the company as president. Jackson will lead the growth in target adhesive and other market segments, as well as provide his considerable chemical industry management capability and experience in assisting Teckrez partners and customers achieve their goals. “Marc is a great addition to Teckrez and we look forward to his immediate impact,” says Tom Eckhardt, chief executive officer and managing director of Teckrez. “He will spearhead aggressive growth in target segments and bring diversified management skills to provide an even better product/service capability to our customers. We’re glad to have him join our team.” Jackson brings nearly 20 years of business and sales management experience in tackifier resins with Arizona Chemical and Union Camp Chemicals (now Kraton), as well as additive and stabilizer industry experience with Ciba Specialty Chemicals (now BASF). He joins Teckrez after successfully initiating and developing a significant specialty monomers business with Melrob US, Inc, now a division of NRC. “I am very excited about the opportunity to build upon what is the leading independent tackifier resin capability in North America,” says Jackson. “With some great new additions to the product line, Teckrez has the opportunity to expand its market presence and provide even better performance and value options. I look forward to working with customers and the Teckrez team to make that happen.” To accommodate its growing team, Teckrez has moved to expanded offices in Jacksonville, FL, which will triple office space to enable more advanced customer management, financial and information systems. The new office is located at 4217 Baymeadows Rd, Suite 2, Jacksonville, FL. 32217. Jackson has a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Drexel University and a Master of Science in Management of Technology from New York University. Teckrez introduces hydrogenated hydrocarbon resins: fully hydrogenated (CH series) for packaging hot melt, clear sealants and other applications requiring exceptional color, outstanding stability, and non-polar / aliphatic character.
9/15/2015 Teckrez Expands Its C5 Resin RangeTeckrez has established U.S. testing capabilities to better assure consistency of supply and provide in-depth understanding of tackifier compositional factors affecting performance; this bolsters established Teckrez advantages in producer collaboration and expertise to provide unmatched supply assurance. Teckrez U.S. capabilities include molecular weight distribution, NMR and standard resin quality testing.
10/22/2014 Teckrez Introduces C95 SeriesTeckrez introduces a range of C9-based, C5-modified tackifier resins which combine favorable economics of C9 resins with greatly improved color and odor. The Teckrez C95 series provide EVA hot melt performance comparable or better than rosin esters in many applications and, given narrow molecular weight distribution, are very effective performers with SBS polymers for PSA and assembly applications. Unlike similar US produced resins which have been beset with feedstock supply issues, Teckrez C95 series are backed by solid, consistent feedstock supply. Teckrez C95 grades are available in softening points ranging from 95 to 120 C.
Teckrez announces the commercialization of Teckrez C series hydrocarbon resins matching or exceeding industry best standards in color, odor, molecular weight distribution and performance for markets including pressures sensitive adhesives, hot melts, construction mastics, sealants, coatings, inks, wax compounding, rubber compounding, road marking and other applications. Product technologies include Teckrez C5 (aliphatic), Teckrez C9 (aromatic), and Teckrez CX (alicyclic/C9). Along with the well-established range of Teckros rosin tackifiers, Teckrez now offers the widest range available of high quality resin tackifiers to better meet customer needs.
Teckrez has appointed Hall Technologies as distributor for the entire Midwest USA region. Tom Eckhardt states that Hall Technologies "has a great reputation as a technically-oriented sales and distribution company and we are very pleased to partner with them." Mark Loudenslager, Executive Vice President for Hall Technologies Inc. says "the considerable product and technical strengths of Hall Technologies will be enhanced by the addition of the Teckrez line, which provides the widest range of rosin resins in the industry."
Teckrez has appointed McCullough & Associates as distributor for the Southeastern USA. McCullough & Associates issued a statement saying "we are very pleased to add the wide Teckrez range of rosin and pine chemical resins to our already strong portfolio for adhesives, coatings, inks and other formulated specialties." Tom Eckhardt, Managing Director of Teckrez, states "we are thrilled to be able partner with a very strong, highly credible partner like McCullough & & Associates in improving the service and value to customers in the southeast."
Tom Eckhardt, Managing Director of Teckrez, Inc., contributed to an article in a recent issue of The Forest Chemicals Review (formerly Naval Stores Review), a magazine that has been covering the Pine Chemicals Industry since 1890. The article, Tackifiers 101: Market Evolves with Demand for Adhesives, Sealants and Labels, discusses the various factors affecting industry demand and how these factors drive domestic and international rosin supply. Mr. Eckhardt's 25-plus years of experience in the global rosin resin and specialty chemical businesses make him uniquely qualified to assess today's fluctuating markets and supply dynamics.
1/1/2008 Teckrez Introduces Terpene Phenolic Alternatives, Polymerized Rosins, Super Light Color Rosin EstersTeckrez featured Teckrez RP125 and RP150, two new terpene phenolic alternatives. Teckrez RP series provide a unique combination of high polarity, softening point and excellent compatibility with a range of adhesive polymers.
Teckrez has commercialized two new partially polymerized (dimerized) rosin grades for use in adhesives, wax compounding and other specialty applications. Teckros D85 and Teckros D95 will complement the already established highly dimerized rosin grade, Teckros D140. The new products meet a need in the U.S. market for high acid value, moderate to high softening point rosins caused by closure of the last polymerized rosin factory in the U.S. in 2009. Teckrez has announced the commercialization of super light color rosin esters, designated Teckros SL Series, which for the first time provides North American customers with rosin ester performance advantages, such as improved specific adhesion, combined with virtually water white color. Available in a range of softening points from liquid to 85, 100, and 115°C. Teckros SL products are useful in a range of applications including colorless hot melts, clear pressure-sensitive adhesives, glue sticks, spray adhesives and many others. 7/1/2006 Teckrez Featured in ASI Magazine
