This year, 2021, is characterized by raw material shortages and supply chain disruptions. Customers and suppliers in the chemical industry have made significant changes in their supply chains to accommodate these new challenges. Teckrez is re-posting here an announcement from Hapag-Lloyd about unprecedented new charges being implemented by shipping companies on goods coming into the United States from Asia (particularly from China). These are being described as “port congestion” charges and, if implemented will add more significant cost to the reliable delivery of chemical products in the USA.
The following is a link to the announcement: Value Added Surcharge (VAD) – Trans-Pacific Trade- ex China to USA and Canada - Hapag-Lloyd Jacksonville, Florida – Teckrez announces new email addresses for all inbound orders and related order inquiries: resins@teckrez.com and monomers@teckrez.com. “We established a specific email address for each of our businesses to ensure all orders are received and acknowledged promptly,” according to Marc Jackson, President. “These new addresses will also enable improved order visibility within the expanding Teckrez customer support team.”
Jacksonville, Florida - Teckrez announced Friday that it expects continued raw material, freight, and other supporting costs to continue increasing but such dynamics will not change its commitment of assured supply to its customers.
Below is a letter addressed to Teckrez customers from Thomas C. Eckhardt, Chief Executive Officer, wherein Mr. Eckhardt discusses the Company's intent to work closely with its customers and supply partners in dealing with the unique challenges prevalent in today's market. Jacksonville, Florida - Teckrez will increase the price of hydrocarbon tackifiers (resins) on March 1, 2021 or as contracts allow. These changes are needed to counter the impact of significant increases in marine shipping, US duties, and producer transfer costs. Increases will range between 15% and 20% and apply to all Teckrez® C5, C59, C95, CH, H5, HM, and HF products.

Jacksonville, Florida - Teckrez has announced an increase of $0.35/lb on glacial methacrylic acid (GMAA) in drums to be effective January 1, 2021. The price of GMAA has increased with strong global demand and reduced availability. Major Asian producers have restricted the amount of GMAA exported to North America and a US producer has announced a plant shut down. Implementation of the increase will vary in accordance with customer supply agreements and contracts.
Jacksonville, Florida - Teckrez has announced an increase of $0.06/lb on all rosin resin products effective December 1, 2020. The increase is required to offset significant increases in the price of gum rosin. Gum rosin prices are being driven up by strong Asian demand. Implementation of the increase will vary in accordance with customer supply agreements and contracts.
Jacksonville, Florida - Teckrez has announced an increase of $0.04/lb on all hydrocarbon resin products effective November 1, 2020. The increase is required to offset higher marine shipping and product costs.
.Jacksonville, Florida - Teckrez has been actively making a case to the United States Trade Representative that 301 tariff exclusions on Hydrocarbon Resins should continue. Unfortunately, the USTR has decided not to continue the 301 tariff exclusion for “granular hydrocarbons.” Their notice to us is posted below. 9/16/2020
